Minimum Requirements

Overseas Hiring:

Candidates currently outside of Qatar.

Education:

Minimum: High School Certificate + minimum 6-Month Technical Certification Program in Cardiovascular Modality (i.e. ECG, Holter, Stress Testing, Telemetry etc.).

Preferred: Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology or Bachelor Degree in Cardiovascular Technology.

Licensing:

Must have a valid license to practice from country of origin.

Must be eligible for registration and licensing in the State of Qatar.

Credentialing from CCI - Cardiovascular Credentialing International is highly preferred.

Essential Experience:

2 years' experience in a cardiovascular related field such as cardiology, emergency etc.

Specification

The ECG Technician is an essential member of the clinical team, responsible for operating and maintaining electrocardiography (ECG) equipment and other heart-monitoring devices.

This role involves preparing patients for a variety of diagnostic procedures—including ECG, Holter monitoring, and stress testing—and performing tests to assess the heart’s electrical activity.

The technician works under the guidance of the medical team to ensure safe, effective, and accurate cardiographic testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform standard electrocardiograms (ECGs) by attaching electrodes to patients’ chest, arms, and legs, and ensuring proper operation of the ECG machine.
• Assist with Holter monitor setup and stress testing as needed.
• Record electromotive variations in the heart muscle and monitor for abnormal patterns.
• Position and reposition electrodes on the chest to capture readings from multiple perspectives.
• Input patient data into diagnostic systems or annotate tracings to indicate electrode placement.
• Ensure machines are functioning properly by replenishing consumables (e.g., paper, ink) and reporting malfunctions promptly.
• Submit completed test results to the attending physician for clinical review and interpretation.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of equipment and testing areas.
• Perform additional duties as assigned within the department.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Technical certification or formal training in ECG procedures and diagnostic cardiographic equipment.
• Proficient in the specialized operation and basic troubleshooting of ECG and related machines.
• Knowledge of standard practices and safety procedures in clinical testing environments.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and medical staff.
• Ability to follow structured protocols and work effectively under supervision from medical or nursing leadership.
