As a General Medicine Specialist in Australia, you will:

  • Deliver full-scope primary care to patients across private clinics and public hospitals.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions according to national healthcare standards.
  • Provide preventative care, lifestyle advice, and health education.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure continuity of care within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Refer patients to specialists and manage follow-up care as needed.
  • Comply with AHPRA registration and Medicare billing guidelines.
  • Participate in professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Must meet eligibility for the Competent Authority Pathway or Specialist Pathway depending on qualifications and country of training.
